Some films are not just films
Watching the contrasting latter half of this film always breaks me, it sends me into a trance of thoughts which makes me realise that we can't break the wheel and i am stuck in it. Study, job, marriage, kids, kids studies, kids marriage, their kids and finally wait for DEATH, same fucking story everywhere. It was my dad's now it's mine. Always behaving according to how society expects you to. I have so many intrusive thoughts that i just want to randomly scream in silent restaurant, i suddenly want to break into tears with no reason in front of everyone but "we can't".... Cause then we will be considered INSANE. It's crazy how thin the line is between sanity and insanity. Just take this point of intrusive thoughts to an extreme, let's say i wanted to kill someone brutally and i actually do it but then murder is wrong..... Let's push a widow into a her husband's pyre, this was right 100 years ago na why is it wrong now??..... So society also tells me what is right and what is wrong and i should go with the flow. FLOW huh, that's the main problem all us fucking humans just go with the flow and adapt to everything that comes our way. Watching the office last episode made me think "these fuckers hated their office in the start and wanted to change jobs but by the end they love their office... So the same thing will happen to me too then?". It's like those oldies say "it will be hard in the starting but then you start to adjust and it feels good"(that's what she said). By the end nothing matters, everyone's had a good life or a bad life its just perspective. These movies na they potray corporate life was boring but it's actually pretty good cause you get MONEY. Ya ya you will feel bored and would want to quit your job but didn't you feel the same with studies?? Your parents forced then but that was right.... You force yourself how is it wrong?. Hhnngyfdngfjig, cause why not it's not like people are going to have the patience to read till here. Imtiaz Ali biggest plus points are he knows when to let the movie breathe and how to capture the beauty of locations, emotions and silence. This will still remain my favourite film cause i got a corporate job, i am not VED who knows what he wants but does what society tells him, i don't know what i want, it's not like my parents are forcing me to do the job, it's cause i don't know what i should do if not this. Society does provide direction lol. I guess this is the part where i tell you guys to watch the film cause come on i need society's validation on my opinion right. This fucking movie broke my perfect illusion, it's kinda like the Matrix.
